Digital entertainment is more rewarding when residents understand how services, subscriptions, accounts, privacy settings, and connected devices work. These workshops help residents explore new interests while making informed choices and avoiding confusing charges, advertisements, and unsafe online content.

 

FIVE ENGAGING WORKSHOPS:

  1. STREAMING MOVIES, TV & MUSIC
    Learn how streaming services deliver digital entertainment. Explore searching, playback controls, subscriptions, free trials, account settings, and unexpected charges.
     
  2. DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT & HOBBIES
    Discover digital reading, games, puzzles, learning, music, art, and other enjoyable activities. Explore trustworthy resources, advertisements, subscriptions, and healthy screen time.
     
  3. SMART HOME DEVICES
    Understand smart speakers, doorbells, lights, thermostats, and other connected devices. Explore setup, voice commands, privacy, household access, and practical everyday uses.
     
  4. AI TOOLS FOR EVERYDAY LIFE
    Use artificial intelligence for writing, planning, learning, creativity, and everyday questions. Practice verifying answers, protecting personal information, and recognizing the technology’s limitations.
     
  5. TECHNOLOGY CONFIDENCE GRADUATION
    Review and practice the most useful skills from the program, complete realistic technology tasks, celebrate progress, and create a plan for continued learning.

 

ONE WORKSHOP. TWO VALUABLE EXPERIENCES:

  1. EDUCATION
    Clear instruction, patient demonstrations, accessible materials, and guided practice help residents explore technology with greater confidence and independence.
     
  2. PRACTICAL TECH SUPPORT
    Time is also reserved for simple questions involving smartphones, tablets, streaming apps, accounts, subscriptions, settings, smart devices, AI tools, and other everyday technology concerns.

Select the workshop that best fits your residents’ interests, or combine three to five sessions into an engaging Entertainment and Technology Confidence program.

 

WORKSHOP FORMAT

 

45–60 minutes of accessible instruction followed by approximately 15 minutes for questions and practical technology support. Participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphone or tablet.
